These beautiful birds are well known for their gorgeous dark brown/speckled eggs. They do very well free ranging or kept in confinement. They are hardy, calm and are great "eye candy" for the barn yard or back yard.
Welsummers are considered a Large Fowl Breed, with the Roosters weighing 7-9 pounds and hens weighing 6-7 lbs. They truly are beautiful birds that offer hours of enjoyment. Their lovely "Terra Cotta" egg color is a wonderful bonus to an already exceptional breed. |  |
